Maria Laverghetta

Maria joined our team in 2025 and is currently the Chief Data Intelligence Officer of WordCom. She holds a unique combination of degrees—a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Bachelor of Music in Voice from the University of Florida, plus an MBA from Northeastern University—bringing over 15 years of experience in marketing, analytics, financial services, and business intelligence. During her free time, Maria loves to hike, read, write and sing, to explore the harmony between data and storytelling, and to spend time with her spouse, Jey, and their two fur babies, Luna and Kasper, in Salem, MA.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what are the three items you would want to have with you?

1. Multi-tool Swiss Army knife
2. Ax or other steel / iron-based tool
3. Solar-powered tablet

If you won the lottery and could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

I'd stay right here in New England but perhaps get a second home somewhere like the Amalfi Coast in Italy or the Portuguese coast—somewhere with rich culture, amazing food, and beautiful ocean views where I could balance my love for data analytics with the artistic side of life. After helping my immediate family with any outstanding debt, I would then start a data literacy foundation to help underserved communities harness the power of their own stories through analytics.
