WORDCOM’S HISTORY

When company chairman George Wachtel founded WordCom in 1981, it was a time of major deregulation in the banking industry. Financial services marketers needed advice and guidance—plus new strategies to open accounts and attract more customers.

George and his associates introduced a variety of new products that were successful because they found and focused on the best prospects.

business-cardsSince those early days, the company and its people have become closely allied with financial institutions and the promotion of banking products. We’ve remained on the cutting edge of technology and marketing processes.

WordCom’s main office and production facilities are located in Ellington, Connecticut, just 22 miles northeast of Hartford.
